Description:

Healthcare systems face increasing demands from ageing populations, chronic disease, and the need for more efficient, personalised, and technology-supported care. Biomedical Engineering at Chalmers addresses these challenges through a strong engineering education with healthcare applications as the central context.

The programme is built on a shared technical foundation in modelling and simulation, applied signal processing, deep machine learning, medical device development, and regulatory understanding. You will develop the ability to work across hardware-oriented, software-oriented, and system-level perspectives, including sensors, data acquisition, signal and image analysis, AI, bioelectronics, imaging systems, and digital health technologies.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

To fulfil the general entry requirement for a master's programme at Chalmers (at advanced level/the second cycle), the prospective student must hold a degree that is equivalent to a Swedish Bachelor's degree (minimum 3 years, 180 Swedish higher education credits) in either Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Mathematics, Mechatronics Engineering

Prerequisites: Mathematics (at least 24 cr. including Multivariable Analysis, Linear Algebra, Probability Theory and Statistics), Signals and Systems Theory or Signal Processing (at least 6 cr. including Linear Systems and Transforms), Electric Circuit Theory (at least 6 cr.), Programming in general-purpose language (at least 6cr.; e.g., C, C++, Python, Java, Haskell, or similar)

    Additional Admission Requirements:
    • Letter(s) of Reference
    • Resume/Curriculum Vitae
    • Statement of Research Interests
    • Work Experience
